Some people may wonder why I write so many posts about Mr Dave Burley. Sure, I hear you day, he’s certainly a legend and a man amongst men. But aren’t you being a bit creepy? (That’s also you saying that). Well the answer is no.
Dave is a blog hit generator supreme. Here are some examples of genuine search engine terms used that have been related to Dave and have resulted in a hit on my blog:
DAVE BURLEY – This one is pretty obvious. But is there any need to shout?
the cat radio 1251 – Another obvious search term since Dave is clearly their best presenter. He should be going national by now. I can only assume it’s petty jealously that has stopped him.
the white hart warrington - A venue made famous by Daves amazing performances that will go down in music history. Forget about the Sex Pistols gig at the Lesser Free Trade Hall, were you there when Dave dedicated a song to his girlfriend and then immediately forgot the words?
Black Manalishi - A Warrington band who have also played the White Hart in a legendary gig for Daves birthday. Clips of Dave introducing them are lighting up Youtube (check out the main Burley page for further details).
classic cars fact file - Strange. I don’t really understand why this gave me a hit. But then that precisely shows the power of the Burley.
David Burley’s antique car collection - Even stranger. Maybe he does have something to do with old cars and I wrote about it and then forgot writing about it. Intriguingly I have never heard the phrase “antique cars” before, surely it is “classic cars”. Maybe Dave is branching off in to new territory.
Fact file about warrington - As Warringtons most famous son this is as it should be.
classic bobs – Out of all the Bobs in the world, Dave is certainly a classic.
pictures of classic bobs – Well if you like Classic Bobs then you’re going to want to look at them.
family of dj bobby b – Some fans just want to know too much personal information.
burlox - I’ve searched google and I’m not entirely sure why someone would search for this. I’m just glad they did.
All in all, this was a fairly cynical exercise in which I created a single post that combines a load of things that people have already searched for in a vain attempt to get more hits. And that was made possible by Daves ability to garner publicity.
As always find out more at the main Burley page Here!
UPDATE! (07/12/07) - Since writing this post just a few days ago I obtained a “Dave Hit” from the rather strange “twenty seven years later cabbages”. I really don’t know where to begin on guessing what information the person was looking for. Bizarrely this term was searched for twice on the same day (surely by the same person!). If you are out there and by some chance happen to read this, please leave a comment explaining what you were looking for! To be fair, if anyone has any speculative ideas on what they were trying to find then also leave a comment.
I have googled the term and bizarrely I am the top result (or should I say that Dave is!). Other top results include Food In China, an Isle Of Man Family History, The Seven Years War and General Pinochet. Your guess is as good as mine.
