The Sleepy Princess – A Fairy Story

on 20 January 2010

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess who lived in a magical kingdom.  Well, I don’t know for sure that the kingdom was magical, I am just assuming.  These beautiful princess types tend to go for a magical vibe when they’re pimping their cribs.

Anyway, this princess was much beloved by her subjects, especially as she spent much of her time helping others.  Indeed, when she returned to her castle on her majestic white mare, Polly, the local children would follow her, hand in hand, singing her name.  It was actually a little bit sickly sweet, but you can’t really say anything, they are only kids after all.  One young boy, who was rather camp, would wait at the castle gates every day, just so he could say ‘You look fabulous, darling’ to the princess.  She just turned around and said, ‘I’m not at all special, I’m just an ordinary girl.’  The peasants laughed at the ridiculousness of the statement.

One day, some of the local children asked if they could brush Polly and give her some sugar lumps.  The princess didn’t want them to, as it made her feel guilty.  She wasn’t a fan of child labour, to be fair.  Sometimes the children would insist that the princess would try on her new gowns for them, just so they could see how beautiful she would look when she went to the ball.  Oh, how they would gasp with delight as she twirled and swirled.  The princess couldn’t see what the fuss was all about.

The court jester, a kind-hearted oaf, once asked the princess about her work helping the unfortunates of the land.  The princess was reluctant as she thought it was boring.  The jester insisted that he was fascinated, but the princess merely raised a quizzical eyebrow, as if to say, ‘Shut up, you dick.’  The jester knew that something wasn’t right, so he called for help.

The princess’s personal physician, Dr Binky Snuggles, was summoned to her chambers.  He popped his head around the door with his cheery greeting, ‘Is somebody not well?’  The princess laughed, Dr Snuggles was quite funny looking.  However, he immediately made his diagnosis.  The princess was tired.  So tired.  He immediately recommended an early night.  It was a pretty obvious remedy really, to be fair.

At the end of the day, the moral of the story is this:  even when a princess gets tired, she is still a princess.

ah poor princess. She’s so very tired and only crayola and lucozade may help!

Maybe one day she’ll realise what it’s all about. I could tell her. It’s all about Norbert Dentressangle.

Sweet princess is in a muddle because she’s so tired. Eating 5 crayola (black, red, green, blue and brown) and a glug of lucozade would sort her out a treat. It’s a pity that Dr Binky has no knowledge of them.

I’ve just seen a Norbert Dentressangle lorry and got totally obsessed by it, so I’m slightly alarmed that they’re involved!!
